Leading US Power Generation & Distribution Utility

Every morning, leaders manually worked through 200+ Tableau reports before a single dispatch decision could be made.

The context

A power generation and distribution utility serving an entire northeastern US state had built a mature Snowflake warehouse and a Tableau estate spanning 200+ reports. Operations teams still lacked a fast, unified way to access the intelligence already sitting inside it, and end customers had no self-service channel at all.

200+reports unified into one interface

What we did

The approach.

  1. 01

    Harvested the existing estate

Pulled metadata from Tableau's API and a 200-entry report register, combined with the Snowflake data dictionary, with zero rebuild of existing BI.

  2. 02

    Indexed for natural language

Vectorised the metadata into Pinecone so AskNeo could map plain-English questions to the right dashboard automatically.

  3. 03

    Inherited access controls

RBAC carried over directly from Tableau and Snowflake, so no permissions had to be rebuilt from scratch.

  4. 04

    Extended to customers and agents

Deployed a conversational layer for end customers, covering outage checks, tariff queries and ServiceNow ticket logging, and extended the platform to sales and marketing teams.

The outcome

What changed.

200+ reports

unified into a single natural language interface

Zero rebuild

RBAC inherited directly from Tableau and Snowflake
